I love to shop, but I also love a good deal, and that goes way back to when I was little, shopping with my mom at stores like Filene’s Basement. Here in New England and in Chicago and the Mid-Atlantic states, Filene’s was a popular place to shop for clothes and accessories, with more than 20 stores until they closed their doors in 2011. Filene’s Basement was where you would go for steals on great brands and I can vividly remember hiding in the racks while my mom shopped around. My guess is if you live in the areas where it was and you ask your mom, she probably shopped there too!
This fall, Filene’s Basement is re-opening its “doors” with the launch of an e-commerce site, FilenesBasement.com. It’s going to stay true to it’s original roots and history, except this time it will be a curated online marketplace, customized to personal taste, with discount, branded apparel, accessories and home goods. And with it being online, you’ll be able to shop it from anywhere, anytime.
I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store at Filene’s Basement online when it launches this fall! Now my big question is, will there be an online version of their annual “Running of the Brides” event?!
