Mixing Plaids

Today I’m all about mixing prints… specifically super soft plaids. I love this style trend because it’s really easy to do. All you have to do is combine two prints that have some sort of a similar color – which in this case was royal blue. The dress has plenty of it and the scarf had one line within the plaid pattern with the same color, so they played off of each other nicely.

First off, if I could wear flannel every day, I would, and this dress (on sale!) has become a wardrobe staple from fall to winter. In warmer weather, I wore it on its own, and then as it got chillier I’ve gone with tights and booties (as shown here) to dress it up a bit or leggings and flats for a more casual look. And a good blanket scarf like this one from Old Navy is perfect for finishing off any wintery look with some added warmth (especially since my office tends to be freeeezing!).
