5 Random Things to Love

Cannot wait for a long weekend over here! Little family, friends, beach & relaxation on the agenda. Today I’m trying something new and random… “5 Random Things to Love,” which is literally what it sounds like. To start off, I’m sharing my acupuncture mat, the only cleansing wipes I actually like, my favorite sandals and more.

Speaking of randomness, before I jump into the 5 things, I wanted to share some quick thoughts about the blog. You may have noticed I’ve been a little quiet. I’ve had some things going on outside of work/blog life, but aside from that, there is a long list of blog posts I want to get up but for one reason or another have been to overwhelming to finish.

With that, I’m going back to why I started this blog – sharing things I love in no particular order. I’m OK with not having a specific niche and it’s easier to take posts to the finish line when they relate to what is actually going on with my life, whether it’s products I’m using, an occasion I’m shopping for or a trip I’ve gone on.

My blog and social posts won’t be perfect, but I think this blogging world is heading back in that direction and I’m here for it. Especially after reading this article – I follow so many influencers that travel all over the world and it actually saddens me thinking about the fact that many aren’t even enjoying their trips because they’re too focused on getting the perfect shot.

Anyway, back to the point of this post – my 5 random finds. Try them out!

5 Random Finds

1. Acupuncture mat: Full review on this coming soon, but I love this acupuncture mat set. I have carpal tunnel that comes from pressure in my upper back and when I can’t get to real acupuncture, I’ll lay on this while watching TV and really do notice a difference. Highly recommend as a good way to de-stress and relax as well! While I think $40 is very well spent on this mat and headrest set, it looks like there are even less expensive versions that look very similar here and here.

2. Gold Birkenstocks: It has not felt one bit like spring, let alone summer, here in New England. I was pretty happy about bringing out my gold Birks last weekend. They’re my go-to sandal for summer – they’re comfortable and go with everything. Also considering getting these black ones this year after getting so much wear out of the gold last year. Also available here.

3. Vineyard Vines for Target: This sale wasn’t quite as the Lilly Pulitzer sale several years ago, but it was still chaos in my store. I was able to snag a few cute things in-store and others online. Many things are sold out, but if you check back on the website as returns come in, you’ll find that some come back in stock for shipping. I love the baby blanket shown in the pic, these swaddles and this lobster/striped beach bag (it’s big and lightweight!). There are also lots of fun pillows still available.

4. Burt’s Bees Micellar Cleansing Towelettes: I’m into skincare, but there are some nights or days when I’m traveling that I just don’t feel like properly washing my face. I’ve tried so many cleansing and makeup remove wipes over the years and none work better than these. I have no idea what white cypress oil does, but I love the thick yet soft texture of these, which are made with repurposed cotton and are free of parabens, phthalates and fragrance. I just ordered this 3-pack when mine ran out (single option here).

5. Reusable Stasher bags: In that same Amazon order, I finally went ahead and grabbed us some Stasher bags. They’re plastic-free reusable storage bags you can put in the dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, stovetop and oven. To be totally honest, I don’t really understand how this is possible with silicone, but I’m into it and would love to stop using so many plastic baggies and even plastic tupperware. Stasher bags come in all different colors and sizes (I bought the snack and sandwich sizes).

Friday Faves – 2.1.19

It’s frigid out, so of course that means it’s the start of February. All we’re missing is the gigantic snowstorm that typically hits around my birthday mid-month. But good news: the Pats are in the Super Bowl, so that should make for a nice Sunday Funday.

January was off to a great start over here on the blog, but then got a bit derailed toward the end of the month. My new baby nephew came a few weeks early (all good, yay!) and I traveled to Colorado for a friend’s wedding (beautiful!), followed by a last-minute work trip. I’m ready for some February hibernation and getting back to a routine. Plus the continuation of my KonMari clean-out.

Anyway, here are my Friday Faves – links I’ve read, products I’m eyeing and more. What are you loving right now?

In my quest for clean beauty, looking to try out a few BeautyCounter products. Which are your favorite?

Also listened to an interesting podcast with Miranda Kerr about her Kora Organics line and also need to try it out.

Way behind on my yearly photo books and think I need to switch over to Artifact Uprising after seeing this post.

My husband sent me this post on how to KonMari your technology as a not-so-subtle hint that my phone has way too many unread emails on it. On a related note, I did use her folding technique as I packed for a trip and it really helped! Watch this video to see how you’re supposed to pack a suitcase.

I’ve never used an interior designer but am trying to make updates around the house. If you’re considering working with one, this post on how to get the most out of it will help. Also, has anyone used Havenly?

Read about a few female founders and their morning hacks for starting the day off right.

Stayed at the cutest boutique hotel in Denver last weekend, The Maven, which is right in the Union Square area with lots of restaurants. More to come on that.

Obsessed with home decor at Target right now, including all things blue and white – this striped vase, these flowers/vase and this soy candle. I have them all on display together in this gold tray on my coffee table.

Very into this article about Millennials being the burnout generation. I can totally relate.

Bachelor fans: loving Kaitlyn and Jason’s new romance, but also felt sad for Shawn on this podcast.

Have my eye on this affordable gold ring for everyday wear.

Love this Serena and Lily rattan chair – it’s under $100!

Clean Beauty & Skincare Finds

One of my goals of this year is to educate myself on what should and shouldn’t be in my beauty products and to phase out whatever I uncover is “bad” for me over time. I hate wasting products so I’m not about to go and throw everything out, but I’m doing my research as I run out of things I use regularly and making cleaner swaps when I go to replace them.

The beauty and skincare world is incredibly unregulated in the U.S. There hasn’t been any legislation around personal care products in our country since 1938. According to Follain, if we’re compared to other countries, we have 30 banned ingredients, while Canada has 500 and Europe has 1,500. This means it’s up to us to figure out what we should and shouldn’t be using via our beauty and skincare products.

While I’ve been incorporating “clean” products into my routine over the past couple of years, I still have so much to learn. I’d love to hear about any resources for learning more – it’s a little overwhelming with all of the crazy ingredient names (sulfates, parabens, phenoxyethanol, what?!). So far I’ve found that Follain has a great blog, Clean Beauty 101.

I’ll be sharing more about my clean beauty journey throughout the year! What are your favorite clean beauty finds? Here are a few I’ve been trying out.

Clean Beauty Finds - Makeup & Skincare

Native Deodorant: I’ve been on the natural deodorant train for almost two years, yet I’ve had trouble finding a brand that actually works. So far, Native has been good to me, specifically in the Coconut & Vanilla scent (the Lavender & Rose scent for some reason did not work for me, but they not have lots of other scents to choose from). Its aluminum, paraben and sulfate-free, plus it’s not animal-tested and is made in the USA. Compared to other natural deodorants, I found the texture of this to be similar to regular deodorants – not sticky, doesn’t leave a residue on your clothes and yet it actually feels like you’re putting something on. You can get it online with free shipping and it’s also now at Target, which I find super convenient.

Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara + Primer: If I had to pick just one makeup product to wear every day, it would definitely be mascara, thanks to my blonde lashes you can barely see on their own. I use several different mascaras depending on the occasion and I was pleasantly surprised that this clean option really worked. I wear it pretty much every day unless I’m going out at night or to an event (let’s face it, that’s rare). One end has a lash primer that essentially puts tiny fibers on your lashes that the mascara then sticks to, making them look longer. And then the mascara itself has a nice wand that gives good volume and definition without clumps. All Honest Beauty products are free of parabens, paraffins, silicones, mineral oil and synthetic fragrances, along with not being tested on animals.

Honest Beauty Everything Primer – Matte: I rarely wore a primer before this one – this product gives you the perfect matte look and makes your makeup go on nice and even. It almost feels like your skin has a light powder on it, which I learned while posting this that it’s actually micronized bamboo powder that helps blur imperfections. I prefer topping it with a tinted moisturizer, but you can also wear this alone or under foundation. Same applies as above: no parabens, paraffins, silicones, mineral oil or synthetic fragrances.

Honest Beauty Lip Crayon: This lip crayon is super moisturizing thanks to ingredients like coconut oil and shea butters. It comes in a great selection of colors – I love “sheer coral” right now. It’s lightweight and stays put for a good amount of time considering it’s a cleaner option than traditional lip colors.

Coola SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray: I’ve been a big fan of Coola sunscreens for years, especially their cucumber face sunscreen, so I was excited to try out this product. In my opinion, it comes in handy the most during warmer months when you’re going to be outside, need sunscreen, but already have makeup on. Just spray a few mists of this organic SPF 30 spray on and your skin will be protected and hydrated and you’ll be good to go. You can do it as many times as you want throughout the day. All of Coola’s products are paraben, para-aminobenzoic acid and animal cruelty free.

Tula Kefir Replenishing Cleansing Oil: I had tried out a few Tula products that I love prior to being sent this face wash and was skeptical because it’s oily when you put it on. But I’ve read that oils bind with oils, meaning that the oils in the cleanser meet the bad oils in your skin that ultimately leaves you with clean skin. I found that it leaves my face soft and hydrated (not oily at all once washed off) and does a good job at removing makeup. Tula is known for their probiotic skincare and this is one of their products made with kefir, a fermented milk drink with probiotics, vitamins and minerals that’s known for its health benefits. This face wash is free from sulfates, fragrance, DEA, TEA and is cruelty-free.

Thanks to Coola, Tula and Honest Beauty (via Influenster) for sending me samples to try out. As always, all opinions are my own.

Best Amazon Finds of 2018

I’m not sure what I did before Amazon Prime. It’s become my go-to for everything from dog food and kitchen gadgets, to jewelry, travel essentials and gifts. No more going to miscellaneous stores or waiting a long time for orders to come in – it’s 2 days with a click of a button. I looked back at alllll of my purchases over the past year to give you my best Amazon finds of 2018.

Tt was hard to top 2017’s Dash egg cooker or this compact spiralizer, but this year’s picks included several significant purchases for one reason or another. Whether it was changing the way I pack for travel or accessorizing with trendy, inexpensive pieces, Amazon did it all.

If you’re on the hunt for a good gift for a guy in your life, I highly recommend a Yeti cooler. And while I didn’t list out baby and toddler gifts below, I also purchased little board book sets for several of the nuggets in my life (here & here).

Here are my top picks in no particular order, which I love for all different reasons.

2018 Best of Amazon

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks – The Long List

Unless you’ve been living under a social media rock, you already know that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (#Nsale) is finally here. And while on one hand I was sick of hearing about it before it even opened today for Nordstrom cardholders, it actually is a good time to stock up on wardrobe staples that you won’t typically find on sale – that’s what I use it for.

If you’re not a cardholder, head back to this post on July 20th when it opens to everyone. Regardless of when you shop, if you see something you like in your size, grab it – it’s likely it will sell out. But it’s also worth noting that because of Nordstrom’s free shipping/free returns policy, it’s worth checking back if something you really want isn’t available in your size. You’ll see items being sold out and restocked daily until it ends on August 5.

I broke out my favorite items into categories below to make for easy shopping – just click on the small images or links throughout the post (note: these are affiliate links, which means for every item purchased, I earn a small commission). And if there’s something in particular you’re on the hunt for, leave a comment and I’ll help you track it down! This post ended up waaaay longer than expected, so stay tuned for a post for home picks and other finds on Facebook, Twitter & Insta!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Finds #Nsale

CLOTHING

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings: If there’s one thing you buy in this sale, these should be it. I’ve been wearing this pair for years and have pretty much convinced everyone I know to get a pair too. Last year I also added the moto version to the mix and love them with sneakers and slides.

Athletic & Leisure: Stock up on your favorite Zella leggings but also don’t forget to check out sale items from some of my other favorite brands, such as Alo and Beyond Yoga. It can be hard to find simple, high-quality athleisure clothes like these black high-waist leggings that I know I’ll wear a ton.

Jeans: If you’re on the hunt for a good pair of jeans and have the patience to go through the buy, try on and return process, I suggest you grab several pairs and do an at-home try-on. There are lots of options to choose from! My picks include any Wit & Wisdom Ab-solution jeans (they have stretch in the waist!) or these white distressed jeans that I have in the regular version from a few years back and love.

Bras: Ok, not the most glamorous thing, but if I need a new bra of any kind – sports, underwire, bralette – this is usually when I grab them. A couple years ago I ditched all of my push-up bras in favor of this brand and haven’t turned back. This light sports bra comes in camo and black – might have to grab one of these! And this one from Sweaty Betty has great reviews – a few colors are in the sale.

Cozy Cardigans, Sweatshirts & Sweaters: Grab ‘em all for fall. I got this one last year and wore it a ton (see here!) – it’s back in new colors and will definitely sell out fast (got it in a medium so it paired perfectly with my faux leather leggings). I also love this twist-front sweater that comes in a fun coral and off-white. You’ll also want to grab any Barefoot Dreams cardigans you can get your hands on while they’re in stock – they are the coziest and sell out quick! Lastly, this pullover is also so soft and was super popular last year.

Sleep & Lounge: My top sleepwear pick is definitely this shirt/shorts set (also long-sleeved/pants version here) – it’s been compared to more expensive version, yet is better quality than the Target version I recently found. These joggers would also get a lot of use and this floral shorts and sweatshirt set are cute – the sweatshirt could also be worn with jeans!

OUTERWEAR

There are SO many good coats and jackets in this sale this year… I had to hold back because I really don’t need anything. But there are very similar versions to items I have and love, so here are some of my favorite picks – and way more in the widget below:

Suede & Leather Jackets: … and a few really good faux options! First, love this year’s Blank NYC suede jacket, which is on sale in 2 neutral fall colors. And at a lower price point, you can grab a faux suede jacket that’s more flowy with a draped front – I have this in another color that I got in the fall and love it because it’s comfortable and lightweight. One new trend that I love is a leather jacket with a removable hood – makes it so you can dress it up or down. Blank NYC is also my fave brand for faux leather jackets, so this one would probably be my pick for under $65 (several colors available), but you can also go with this real leather option that’s on sale for $100 off! Same goes for this one without the hood from the same brand. This flowy faux leather jacket looks super soft and has a similar cut as the suede version I mentioned earlier.

Blazers & Midi Coats: I’m obsessed with knit blazers in particular and there are several affordable, cute options here, here & here. This one is also technically knit but is a bit longer and has a more traditional style to it. For a more traditional option, I love this one, which comes in both black and pink. For longer coats, go for this classic J.Crew find (love the yellow, but there are other colors!) or this one by Leith.

Other: This Patagonia puff jacket will go fast! And I love a good utility jacket in either green or camo (faves here, here & here). And my go-to waxed jacket is almost $150 off – this brand has a great raincoat as well. Last but not least, the zip-up version of the cozy pullover mentioned above will be something you want to live in all fall and winter.

SHOES

Casual Sneaks: If you work in a casual office like me, it’s great that there are so many nice looking sneakers out there that are appropriate for lots of occasions. I love these wedge sneakers (several neutral colors available!), these gold slip-ons, and I’m a sucker for any rose gold options.

Booties: This is a great time to grab a new pair of either black or cognac booties that you’ll wear with everything when fall hits. I even found myself wearing booties through winter last year, favoring them over tall boots. This brand is always a go-to for comfortable, everyday shoes and these low booties look perfect. I love these waterproof booties – they have a 2 1/2 inch chunky heel and come in lots of neutral colors. And these boots remind me a lot of the Sorel wedges I had my eye on last year.

Other: I’m not a heels gal, but I did spot these block-heel mules that I love that could be worn with a dress or jeans. There are also a few cute pairs of neutral espadrilles, including a slide version with tassels. I’m also a big fan of leopard as a neutral, especially when it comes to shoes, so these slides would be a nice wardrobe staple.

BAGS & ACCESSORIES

Gold Earrings: Maybe this is just because I’ve been on the hunt for a good pair of gold hoop earrings, but one of my favorite things in this category was the gold earring selection in the sale. These look like a high-quality, yet not-too-pricey option to try out. And gorjana is a go-to for more dainty options like these thin double hoop gold earrings (which also come in silver and rose gold).

Everyday Bags: I don’t love a ton of bag options in the sale, but there are a few gems… like this Madewell bag that I have in cognac and use all the time (shown here – the version in the sale has perforated holes for extra detailing). And there’s even an expandable Longchamp bag – those are tough to find on sale! This crossbody bag is also one I could see myself using quite a bit, especially in the nude color.

Luggage: I travel pretty frequently and somehow just tried out hard shell suitcases – I’m sold! There’s a great set and also individual suitcase options on sale in a variety of colors, such as rose pink and classic black.

BEAUTY & SKINCARE

Sunscreens: I’m all about quality sunscreens made with good ingredients and both of my favorites, Coola and Supergoop!, both have value sets offered in the sale. Supergoop!’s setting mist is also supposed to be a great product.

Skincare Sets: A few of my favorites include value sets with the most popular products from great brands including options from TULA, Tata Harper and SK-II. Also this isn’t a set, but this jumbo-sized Elemis face wash is another popular find. I also can’t forget the fact that there are a couple different face mask sets, such as this one from Patchology, a brand I’ve been meaning to try out.

StriVectin Neck Cream: I’ve been wanting to try this out all year and didn’t even think of the potential that it would be included in the sale, so today is my lucky day! It has great reviews and I think the neck and chest areas are so important to take care of as I get older.

Makeup Eraser: I recently discovered these makeup eraser cloths and am obsessed. All you need is water to remove even waterproof mascara. Normally 2 of these would cost you $40, but this 2-pack is only $25!

Makeup Sets: There are lots of makeup sets to choose from, but my favorite has to be the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics set. It has the perfect sized smaller version of the Naked2 eye shadow palette, along with their popular setting spray and eye primer.

Silk Pillowcases: Slip recently sent me their silk pillowcases to try out and they are the best! They’re supposed to be way better on your skin than your everyday sheets. I highly recommend grabbing a set!

Lash Serum: While I’m obsessed with my Rodan + Fields Lash Boost, before I used that, I would get a 2-pack of this lash serum every year in the Nsale. It definitely works and this is a great value at nearly $100 off the cost of 2 tubes. (Note: I’m a R+F consultant so feel free to email me at katy @ dailykaty.com to learn more about Lash Boost though!).

Self Tanner: I haven’t tried this one out for myself yet, but have heard that this St. Tropez self tanner is one of the best ones out there. This jumbo size is a great deal!

Candles: I always stock up on candle gift sets during this sale, both for myself and to give individually as gifts throughout the year. There are lots of Voluspa sets available in both regular and small sizes, along with an exclusive diptyque 5-pack that you can only get during this sale.

Empty Bottle Diaries – Vol. 1

I’ll be sharing details on my everyday skincare and beauty routines in the coming months, which I’ll update and re-share periodically, but I also wanted to start up a new series: Empty Bottle Diaries. I know not all products are the kind that you use up entirely, but I’ve been trying to do exactly that whenever I’m trying – and liking – a product.

I’ve learned over the past year or two that you can’t really tell it a product is working unless you try it out for a few months. And once I like a beauty product, there’s no point in changing it up until I try something I like something better. So, with that, today I’m sharing a few products that I’ve stuck with and have actually repurchased after they were gone.

Empty Bottle Diaries Vol 1

Shop the Products:

Urban Decay Mascara

Burt’s Bees Eye Makeup Remover Pads

Rodan + Fields Unblemish Sulfur Wash

Tula Volume Defense Wrinkle Serum

My thoughts on each:

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara: I got a taste of this mascara when I got a sample at Sephora and have been hooked ever since. I’m not the type to be loyal to one mascara (I tend to switch it up depending on if I’m going to work or out for the night/a special occasion – or I layer different types), but once I have a good experience with a mascara, I usually go back to it and buy again. Urban Decay is probably most known for their Naked eye palettes (which I also love!), but this mascara was actually the first product I tried from the brand.

I think this is the perfect everyday mascara because it’s the perfect blend of volumizing and lengthening. I like to put on one coat before work or when I’m being casual (paired with my Lash Boost that I apply each night for longer, fuller lashes) and I’m good to go. My lashes are very blonde, so I look asleep with zero mascara! I’ll add another coat and sometimes another mascara before or after if I’m going somewhere else.

Burt’s Bees Eye Makeup Remover PadsFinding a good eye makeup remover has been a struggle for me for years. Either they’re not good enough and I end up scrubbing so much that I lose an eyelash or they’re way too oily. With these, you get a natural, gentle wash that still removes the makeup, even waterproof (just need a little more patience). Extra bonus: they have no added fragrance and are free of parabens, phthalates, SLS and petrolatum. And they don’t leave behind an oily residue that makes it so you have to wash again after the makeup is gone. But even with the best eye makeup removers, be gentle to your lashes, eyelids and under your eyes! That skin under and around your eyes is so thin and sensitive.

Rodan + Fields Unblemish Sulfur Wash: I went through a phase a couple of years ago where, after not having acne for my entire life, I suddenly started getting it here and there. I guess this is what happens when you hit 30, but I was not a fan. I wasn’t ready to fully commit to a full acne skincare regimen, so I decided to try out a face wash first. Ever since then, I haven’t turned back. I use this once a day – and 2-3 times a week, I use my Microdermabrasion Paste as an exfoliator (I put it on before I get in the shower then rinse off) and then this face wash as a mask for 5-10 minutes afterwards. I have several friends (and customers – I’m a R+F consultant) who also swear by this stuff as well. I’m not writing this to sell anything, but if you do want to learn more, try it out and save 20%, shoot me an email at katy@dailykaty.com – always happy to help!

Tula Volume Defense Wrinkle Serum: Keeping your skin hydrating is so important. If you do that, you’re one step closer to staying wrinkle-free. But if you need a little help, this serum is a great place to start. It’s a milky, concentrated serum that uses natural probiotics with retinol and Vitamin C to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. I applied a thin layer on my face after the above face wash and then use a day or night moisturizer afterwards depending on the time of day. I love how this serum is hydrating but also sinks into your skin pretty quickly so you don’t have to wait too long to apply moisturizer.

Tula is a brand I love because their products are not only clean and safe, but they’re also effective and actually work. I have a hard time actually sticking with better-for-you beauty products when they don’t work – and that is not the case with Tula. Next on my list to try from Tula is their Kefir Ultimate Moisture 3pc Collection, which features all three of their full-sized Kefir Products – Kefir Replenishing Cleansing OilMoisture Repair Pressed Serum + new Ultimate Recovery Mask. The bundle is only $65 for the month of February – and it’s worth $153!

Tula Skincare on QVC

Thank you to Urban Decay, Burt’s Bees and Tula for providing samples for me to try out. I am a Rodan + Fields consultant and this post also contains affiliate links, which means that if you click the links and make a purchase, I’ll earn commissions. As always, all opinions are my own.

Ornament Gifts for the Last-Minute Shopper

How crazy is it that Christmas is less than a week away! I was so organized and had most of my gifts purchased before December event started… and then I had a big lull and need to finish up this week. Ornaments are such a good last-minute gift idea – and this year you can take that idea up a notch with all of the beauty, skincare and even home-themed ornaments that come with presents in them! The packaging is so fun and you can either gift them as-is by hanging them on the tree or give them as stocking stuffers.

Last-Minute Holiday Gifts - Ornament Gifts

I’m sharing details on some of my favorites below – and you can shop even more at the bottom of this post by scrolling and clicking on the ornaments in the widget. Grab an ornament gift online or at stores like Sephora, Ulta or Target. What are your favorite stocking stuffers or low-cost gift ideas that come in cute packaging?

Ornament Gifts

1. Nest Candle: You can’t go wrong with a candle from this brand. They’ll make your house smell like a luxurious spa. The ornaments come in the best holiday scents that will make you want to go back for a bigger version.

2. IT Cosmetics CC Cream: I tried this out for the first time last week and have been loving it! It’s lightweight yet still gives you nice coverage that actually stays put. Extra bonus is the SPF 50.

3. amika Dry Shampoo: I’ve always heard great things about this but have yet to try it out. Might have to grab this ornament to try it out as a travel size and take it on my next trip!

4. Too Faced Mascara: This has been one of my go-to mascaras for years (I tend to switch them up and layer depending on where I’m heading). It gives you lots of volume and people are obsessed with it.

5. BeautyBlender: Almost New Year, so probably time to either replace yours or grab one for the first time – it’s a game changer when it comes to applying things like CC cream or foundation. I just learned the best way to use it is by running under water first so it doesn’t absorb all of your makeup!

6. Clinique Merry Moisture Set: This comes with their popular moisturizing lip balm crayon and face lotion. These products are a pretty safe bet for anyone who likes to at least wear a little lip color.

7. thisworks sleep tight: This is perfect for a new mom or someone who needs a good night’s sleep. It comes with 3 essential oil products – 2 pillow sprays (one to help you fall asleep, another to keep you asleep) and a de-stressing aromatherapeutic rollerball that will relax you for bedtime.

8. Philosophy Bubble Bath, Shower Gel & Face Washes: You can’t go wrong with any of these – they smell so good. They also have some of their popular face lotions in ornament packaging.

9. Buxom Full-On Lip Polish: I always come back to this brand for lip gloss – and this one will give you a nice gloss that also works over your favorite lip color.

Holiday Countdown with Beauty Advent Calendars

This past weekend was the first weekend that I really felt like the holiday season was coming. After just getting back from two weeks in Hawaii a couple weeks ago, I was not happy about the cold temps – but the silver lining is that I realized the holiday season is just around the corner.

So with that, I’m kicking off holiday content on the blog with a post that’s really for you rather than gifts for others. Last year, I saw a few of my favorite brands put out advent calendars that allowed you to countdown to Christmas by opening up a surprise each night. This year, I found a bunch of beauty brands with advent calendars that range from Target’s $15 option to Charlotte Tillbury’s “naughty and nice” set that’s filled with full-size products.

No matter what holidays you celebrate, grab one of these and use it to surprise yourself with daily goodies as you countdown to the festivities – or just open them all at once for a bigger treat! Shop these advent calendars and more via the links and pics below.

Katy

Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide 2016

The pre-holiday season got the best of me and admittedly I am WAY behind on my gift guide content that I had originally planned (sorry!!). The holidays are now here, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who hasn’t quite checked everyone off the gift list yet. One of my favorite things on Christmas morning when I was little was opening up my stocking – my mom wrapped every little thing in it so it took forever!

So today I’m sharing lots of last-minute stocking stuffers from either stores you probably have nearby or good old Amazon Prime. Bought all your gifts already? Pick some of these up for yourself – especially the gift sets that are only available at this time of year and are usually great value! Shop everything via the links and images below, where you’ll find even more options in each category.

Happy Holidays, everyone! Hope you all get to disconnect and spend time with family and friends.
