Holiday Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers – Part 2

Tonight I’m bringing you part two of my stocking stuffer gift guide (check out part one here). Lots more great gift ideas – hand cream, lip glosses, nail polish and more!

Stocking Stuffers - Part 2

  • bliss Diamonds for the RoughI know I’ve mentioned this before, but my hands have been so dry this winter, so I’m basically addicted to hand lotions, including these ones from bliss. They make your hands nice and soft without leaving them greasy like some hand lotions do. {blissworld.com, $12.50}
  • boscia Pink Peppermint Blotting LinensThe are great for keeping in your desk or purse for when you need to freshen up your face and remove oils without messing up your makeup. These ones have peppermint extract, so they’re refreshing too. {sephora.com, $10}
  • Laura Mercier Fairy Dust Eye Shimmer & Metallic Crème Eye Colour:These eye shadows fit right in a stocking and both are super easy to apply for an easy and effortless look. Just dip the eye shimmer into the bottle and it puts the perfect amount onto the brush so that it covers your eye in one swipe but doesn’t get all over your face. The creme eye color also gives you just the right amount of shimmer and is also waterproof. I use an eye primer and then this and I’m good to go all day. {sephora.com, $28 – eye shimmer, $24 – creme eye color}
  • Pier 1 Silver Reindeer Bottle StopperIt’s fun to gift holiday home-related gifts for people to use next year. This reindeer wine bottle stopper is a great stocking stuffer and adds some festiveness to a wine bottle during your yankee swap and family partiers. There are also lots of other holiday wine stoppers to pick from – Santa, elves, snowmen and more. {pier1.com, $7.96}
  • Bumble and bumble City WavesThis surf spray is one of the best things around for getting beach-like waves in your hair. And the set also comes with their Bumble.band. All you have to do is spray your wet hair with the surf spray, roughly blow-dry and then slip on the Bumble.band, shape it to whatever style you like. {sephora.com, $26}
  • Laura Geller Sparkling Cocktail Lip Gloss TrioThese lip glosses are inspired by cocktails and can be worn anytime. Try them on their own during the day and then paired with your favorite lipstick at night for more color. The glosses give you lots of shine without the stickiness. {qvc.com, $32}
  • KBShimmer Pine-ing for Yule Nail PolishThis nail polish has metallic Christmas trees and stars that look very festive when put on over white or black. Plus, for each bottle sold through December 15, $4 will be donated to Tots For Tots. {kbshimmer.com, $8.75}
  • Ciate Glitz FixThis is definitely not your average stocking stuffer or makeup set, but it’s pretty fun. It includes everything you need to make your lips bold, red and super glittery. You apply and seal the glitter in just two steps and then take it off with regular makeup remover. {sephora.com, $19}
  • Hello Kitty An Apple a Day Lip Balm TrioLots of these products can be found at Sephora, but my favorite thing about Sephora around the holidays are the gift sets. This one comes with three lip balms in hot pink, natural nude and candy apple red. Each has extracts of lemon, strawberry, vanilla, apple and coconut oil – plus a tiny mirror in each of the covers. {sephora.com/amazon.com, $20}

Holiday Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers – Part 1

Time for another gift guide! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite stocking stuffers including everything from lip gloss and hand cream to nail polish and a great water bottle.

Stocking Stuffers - Part 1

  • bareMinerals Give it a TwirlI love the Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss line from bareMinerals and this gift set gives them a fun twist. It comes with two glosses in vibrant, complementary colors. The first combines Trailblazer (nude gold) with Hot Shot (flamingo pink) to give you Creamsicle (creamy pink). And the second pairs Stunner (pure magenta) and Rebel (pink mauve) to get Fuchsia Fizz (magenta mauve). I was already a big fan of Hot Shot, so I was excited to try these out. {bareescentuals.com, $18}
  • Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Hand CreamMy hands have been so dry this winter, so I’ve been keeping a hand cream in my bag at all times. This one helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles with Vitamin C, while also giving you hydrated, soft hands from aloe, jojoba and shea butters. {juicebeauty.com, $12}
  • SpaRitual Home CollectionThese sparkly colors are perfect for the holiday season. There’s a gold (Finding), red (Authentically) and green (Home), but they’re not your traditional holiday colors. For a holiday party tonight, I’m pairing Finding with glittery bright purple Living for a fun yet different look. {sparitual.com, $12 each}
  • Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 MascaraPrecision Longwear Liquid Eyeliner and Inner Rim LinerI’m a big fan of switching up my mascaras depending on the day or occasion – and I also love layering different mascaras – so that means I have a lot of them. I had heard great things about this mascara but for some reason had never tried it until now. I have to say that I love this mascara and liners. The mascara is lengthening, curling, volumizing andconditioning, and the liquid liner is easy-to-use, which isn’t the case with many I’ve tried. And the inner rim liner does exactly what it says, instantly brightening up your eyes and making you look wide awake. {tartecosmetics.com, $20 – mascara, $20 – eyeliner, $19 – inner rim liner}
  • Hydro Flask Insulated Coffee, Tea and Water Bottle – 18 ozWater bottles are one of those things that I use all the time but I don’t want to spend my own money on. I do love a good water bottle though, especially when it comes in lots of fun colors like this one does (pick from nine different ones!). Hydro Flasks come in other sizes as well, but this one is perfect for coffee and tea on your morning commute. It actually keeps your drink hot for up to 12 hours or cold for up to 24 hours. Better yet, it’s made from environmentally friendly materials, is 100% recyclable, toxin and BPA-free, and comes with a lifetime warranty. {hydroflask.com, $25.99}
  • Kari Gran Lip WhipI recently tried out Kari Gran’s skincare line (more to come on that after the holidays!) and also go to test out Lip Whip. It’s a tinted lip balm that comes in two flavors: Peppermint and Cinnamon-Pimenta Berry. It’s great for everyday use because you can wear it alone for moisturizer and a subtle tint or pair it with lipstick for even more color.{karigran.com, $15}
  • ChapStick Holiday CollectionI swear I am constantly trying to protect my lips from getting too dry and chapped at this time of year. These festive holiday flavors include the traditional ChapStick in Peppermint and Pumpkin Pie and my personal favorite, the MixStick Vanilla Candy Cane Milkshake. {chapstick.com, $1 – $2.69}

Happy Holidays from Hank the Reindeer

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is picking out and sending our our cards. We always go with photo cards with a picture of my husband and I, so I was excited to switch it up this year and use a pic of Hank instead!

Yesterday I dressed him up in some fun holiday outfits Party City sent Hank. You might remember that Hank had some pretty amazing Halloween costumes from Party City too – they have a great dog costume section and everything is pretty affordable too.

Xmas Dog Reindeer Costume {more on dailykaty.com}

You’re probably thinking… poor Hank. But I swear he loves the reindeer costume because it’s essentially just a fleece sweatshirt. And he seems to love sweaters too now that it’s cold outside and he’s just a little 12 pound nugget. He always sticks his tongue out when he’s tired, so you can tell he was pretty sleepy during these pics!

There are more pics of Hank’s holiday outfits from Party City below – and you can buy these for yourself on PartyCity.com using these links: Reindeer Costume ($12.99), Candy Cane Sweater ($9.99) and Christmas Bandana Collar ($6.99).

Come back to the blog for more holiday posts featuring Hank – there will be everything from ugly Christmas sweaters for pups to dog gift guides.

  • Tarte Brazilliance skin rejuvenating maracuja face and body self tanner & self tanning face towelettes It’s no secret that sun tanning is bad for our skin, but I can’t help but love the look of being tan. So during the winter months especially, I rely on great sunless tanning products like these from Tarte. The key is finding tanners that don’t have a fake tan smell or leave you streaky and orange. With Tarte’s application glove, it’s easy to apply the self tanner streak-free. And I love the towelettes for your face because they’re so easy-to-use, convenient and refreshing. With Tarte’s self tanning products, you get the benefits of maracuja oil, which is known to replenish, rebuild and brighten your skin. {tartecosmetics.com, face & body – $39, towelettes – $21}

Then at night, you apply the Overnight Resurfacing Serum with time-release retinol and other benefits for your skin that works while you sleep. {macys.com, $65}

For those occasions, or when I’m traveling or just need a quick face wash, I look to cleansing wipes like these ones from YES TO. For the holidays, they’ve teamed up with Youtube beauty guru Ingrid Nilsen (aka Miss Glamorazzi) and design students from FIDM to create limited-editions of their popular cucumber and blueberry wipes. They’re packed with superfoods and are all-natural, biodegradable. {yestocarrots, $6}

Hank is Ready for Halloween!

If you’ve been following my Instagram, you’ve been getting regular pic updates of our nine-month-old mini bulldog, Hank. But it’s been a while since I posted pics on the blog, so in the spirit of Halloween coming up this Friday, I’m sharing some adorable puppy shots of Hank in his Halloween costumes and sweaters from Party City.

Halloween Hank

Party City has so many perfect Halloween costumes for dogs and I couldn’t resist making Hank try them all on this past weekend. It took a lot of treats, but luckily he loves treats more than he dislikes being dressed as Superman. Now we just need to get him to a Halloween party this week or weekend! Next year we’re definitely participating in the Boston Canine Promenade (click for pics of other dressed up pups!).

Don’t have a costume for your pup yet? There’s still plenty of time to head over to your local Party City or PartyCity.com. Hank’s costumes are the Striped Pumpkin Dog Sweater, Striped Skull Dog Sweater, Amigo Dog Costume and Superman Dog Costume. There are so many options that it was so hard to pick just a few out – everything from Ninja Turtles and Where’s Waldo, to Pirates, Princesses and Dinosaurs.

What are you dressing your dog as for Halloween? Let us know in the comments below!
